"A tiny group of believers who have the gospel keep mumbling it over and over  to themselves.   Meanwhile, millions who have never heard it once, fall into the flames of eternal hell without ever hearing the salvation story."
- K.P. Yohannan

"I have but one passion - it is He, it is He alone.  The world is the field and the field is the world; and hence forth that country shall be my home where I can be most used in winning souls for Christ."
- Count Zinzindorf

 PRAYER AND PRAISE
Please continue to pray with us for…
  • …as Gary begins a new semester at the Seminary this week (August 11).  He will be trying to teach through the General Epistles.
  • …as we are going to kick off a new season of radio ministry.  Gary will continue his program called Living a God-Centered Life. Pray for ELWA radio and the many speakers and programs.  Radio is an amazing media tool!
  • …rainy season is hitting like never before it seems.  Houses are leaking (ours included), many have flooded and some are completely destroyed.
  • …Gary’s ‘upcountry’ teaching opportunities.  As soon as rainy season ends there will be countless opportunities to share and teach and train in the remotest places…
  • …as we seek to have a God-centered home school!
  • …Discernment!  There are many requests this time of year to pay for school fees, rebuilding destroyed homes from the floods, food for hungry families, medical help, clothing and many more important yet overwhelming needs.  We cannot meet every need and not all needs are ‘true’.  So we need discernment to see where were being ‘played’ and when there is a real need…. Many missionaries struggle with this issue – so we are not alone!
  • …Our marriage and family.  We are not unaware of the constant demands for our time and energy.  We often can be ‘spent’ and we want to guard against having nothing left for each other.
  • …Titus (one of Gary’s students) as he plans for his future ministry as a church planter in the difficult and forgotten area of Sinoe country.
  • …Abu, a Muslim friend, Gary is building a friendship with.  MTM was able to start him in business as a carpenter!  We are praying that he will someday trust in the One who once shared his trade!
  • …Alice, a single mom and lady in Tammy’s study, as she seeks to live radically for Christ.  She walks with Tammy through the neighboring Muslim village.  She has never befriended a Muslim before.  She has a longing to obey her own call to share the Good News!
  • …Ezekiel and Doris, a student and his wife at the seminary.  They were being forced to leave their home with no money or place to go to.  By God’s Amazing Grace, they found a home for their family and were provided with 4 month’s rent.  Please pray as they seek to come up with the rent money after their 4 months passes.
  • …Bomi Evangelical Church as they look for a building to worship!  They have outgrown their present facility that they rent.  They long to own their own building.

Praise God with us for…
  • …that we all get to serve Him!  He doesn’t need us.  HE WANTS US!
  • …His daily provisions.  We cannot take these for granted!
  • …A wonderful visit from Paige.  She came to us for a month from Wisconsin.  Her time was truly a blessing for us and for her!  We love visits from you – what a blessing it is to share this ministry with you in so many ways!
  • …Jedidiah’s arm.  It still has a lack of motion.  However, the Lord has brought to our steps a physical therapists who is able to make daily visits.  She is working (through email) with Paul Leverson and together Jed is getting great treatment!  We do not take this for granted at all and we praise God!
  • …the growth of the Ladies in the Congo Town Bible Study.
  • …the many opportunities Gary has been presented with to teach.
  • …for Titus, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Robert, Emmanuel, and the other men in the Seminary that have a great understanding of the Word and are seeking to teach their own people!
  • …for our safety during a critical time in Liberia.  The armed robberies have been intense and on the increase.  Yet, we are safe!  The Lord is our Security Guard!
